What does this mean?
Simple answer, the UDA is empty, all files form UDA are in ROFS and get copied to C:\ after first boot or a hardreset.
=> Shortly said this CFW is completly hardreset persistant. With filemanager + Delight Backup&Restore you can "reflash" you phone via a 3 Finger Reset on the go.
- in Menu, Tools, Xtras you will find Delight App which contains our Backup&Restore solution, FAQ and other features, e.g. a MiniCMD launcher. It has a inbuild documentation.

How to flash:
when coming from Delight v1.0/v1.1/v1.2/v1.3:
flash via "Update Software" and without of UDA.After first boot Updater app will start.
Select all versions after your last CFW version.

What if I already have Evolve Qt3 theme and the N8 editors installed? Also, I'm having a WP8 like keyboard theme installed (by copying the file in c:/sys/bin ; I don't know why I can't view the sys directory with X-Plore anymore). I can uninstall the theme and the editors thouth. Also, why is flashing without of UDA (I want to upgrade now from 1.3) so important?
ReplyDeleteif they are post flash installations, then deinstall them first. 2) you can still write in c:/sxs/bin, if you have the patch on 3) well , why is flashing without uda so important: we spent half of the development to get an updatable phone , without having to reinstall and restore everything. The updater copies the stuff needed on C: , the phone is absolutely hardreset-able and it will be exactly like after flash. You can refurbish it if you want, but it's not really needed. Come to think of it, the only swap really needed for people coming from a previous release is the core and the rofs2

ReplyDeleteIt's simple. Open ROMPatcher+ (Menu -> Tools) and check the '' RemoveRecTone '' patch. You can also add it to auto, if you want to have the recording tone disabled even after restart.
DeleteWell, that implies you to have the '' RemoveRecTone '' patch. It's not Delight 808 1.4 exclusive though, so you can find the patch on the internet, or you can take it from Delight 808 1.4 firmware.

ReplyDeleteI would put the avkon2.mif in rofs3/resource/apps and the qmltouchinput.dll in rofs3/sys/bin and keep that rofs3 even for future updates. No recalibrating needed

Iam so sorry if U feeling that Iam gonna an aggressive nature but I didn't mean that , U told in in Ur 1st comment (It is probably the same on ofw) it means U R not sure about it but I'm telling U 101% surly that in OFW it didn't change any Access Points priority by it's own ! ,,, I need the priority because I'm using more than 3 access points to access the net & all of them haven't work with me in the same time also stops passing data so thats why I need to change priority every time !!! & this bug haven't any relation with apps its happening with 0 apps installed ...
Deleteas huellif already stated, it is a common problem on Fp2, and no matter if ofw or cfw. We haven't made any modifications to that part of the firmware. I myself do not have that problem, and I can't reproduce it. But I still believe you. I tried to reproduce it by signing in to 5 or 6 wlan connections and 3 mobile data connections. Best is to delete top priority, so that you can change top priority to the next, or the next again. I am sorry that I don't have a better solution

Only one thing additionaly: I've forgot to format drive E before refurbish, but earlier I never used any unlock/lock screen program.

The screensaver is not a big problem, but the missing clock on the unlock screen is bad... especially looks stupid with lockscreenaudio (I've reinstalled it after I found clock is missing, it puts some buttons and text to the unlock screen when music player is running).
Strange... I've downloaded my 059M970 original fw, flashed... and the same. The (digital) clock dissapeared, both on screensaver and unlock screen (analog works). This is impossible...
DeleteMaybe some earlier digital clock mod? But refurbish should delete this, no?! E is formatted, and I think C will be overwritten. Hidden drives shouldnt change... (for example c to z patch).
Back to delight, the same the (digital) clock failes unlock/scrsvr, but with analog it worx...

you can flash and refurbish it another 500x and it won't change a thing. Like I said , it is working fine here, which means it is related to your private data, settings or installations. Since C gets wiped on Refurbish flash, and you already formatted E, means the problem is ob F or ib your restored backup. Are you in battery saving mode?...otherwise, save your data from F on your computer off and format F

DeleteMy Nokia 808 Delight 1.4, is unable to lock GPS position in NOKIA DRIVE and Nokia Maps without DATA/Wifi, with GPS alone. I need to be connected to DATA/Wifi for correct positioning. The GPS module alone should be able to lock GPS satellites and locate current position correctly in NOKIA drive. It keeps on searching and loosing GPS signals and locates wrong position. This issue is with both Delight 1.3 and Delight 1.4, though works fine on Stock firmware.

DeleteIt locks fine with GPS alone, but wrong location! And fails to sync on map when driving after the lock. Keeps refetching the position with "Searching For GPS" recurrently. I tried going to settings>applications>positioning> and enabled GPS integrated amd Network. Will try again and share.

Nobody reported earlier that phoenix worx well under 8.1? (I tried about 7-8 times in two days, wo any problem.)
Maybe this was already mentioned in earlier versions but when you use the maximum of homescreens then this will give screen rotation issues when changing from portrait to landscape (and vice versa). It takes about 3 sec and a black screen to change.

yes, that is a well known problem. We didn't really like the 10HS mod, but was user demand. I don't advise to use more than 4 HS ... the less the better ... I have 2
DeleteI didn't have V1.3 or earlier so I didn't read those blogs, so it took me a while to find out what the solution was..That's why I mentioned it here, because I'm sure I am not the only one who wants as many homescreens as possible. Adding homescreens was one of the first things I did after flashing. So I wasn't aware at first that that was the cause for the screen rotation problem..
DeleteIF you would use a battery app, (which I strongly NOT recommend), then you would see that the Homescreens are taking the most power consumption. Which is also related to Ram and other stuff. there is a 100 HS mod online...

DeleteHi you may recall I commented on 1.3 that I had GPS issues with some apps and not others. I had the same issues with 1.4 but seeing Tufeyl Shahzad's comment above I looked at the positioning settings. In Positioning Methods all were ticked except Bluetooth GPS. I unticked all except Integrated GPS and now all my apps get position. Thank you Tufeyl Shahzad for giving me a clue. And thank you Eric for the great cfw.

it doesn't have to detect your product code. It has to detect Delight product code. And about Win8....some people got it to work, others don't.

After the complete setup now I want to install apps from nokia store but I am not able to install any single app. I know there must be a patch or mod for this but I am not able to get that. my phone is fresh install and has correct date and time. all modes in rompather are turned off by default.

all patches should be OFF when installing apps. The installserver.exe is already integrated to install unsigned apps. Sometimes the store hangs when a lot of apps are in the reinstallation process. Steve Litchfield at AAS wrote what to do when that happens 2) if you can't connect to Nokia suite or your computer....did you have Rompatcher installed before you flashed Delight ? The old installation can cause problems

One question as my 808 is an indian variant (black), and i have installed your base English(Euro) version with Hindi writing files, will it impact my phone's performance as i am getting my 808 restarted/crashed randomly whenever i am trying to do multitasking/whatsapp/downloading some files from store/web? will you provide some fix in upcoming Delight version as 808 has some 3G compatibility issues? or have you already done it :P.....silly me ..:P

the crashes might be from the 3g update. Delight comes with 3g update 2.50. India gets better performance with 2.10 as I heard.

2. FP1 Music Player: The last version, as in FP2 for 808 is 17.3.18. I think the previously last one which also had Dolby is 17.2.17. I have found your thread (http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.php?topic=71347.0) but I coudn't find that version. Is there a way to have it?
I know I have to reflash for both these mods/changes. Will it affect Delight?
you can try different ones. Just put the 10283344.txt in your rofs3/private/10202be9/ and flash via Software Update without uda and test the different ones 2) why do you think the one integrated doesn't have dolby?

Delete2. Well, that's not the case. I want the FP1 music player mainly because of it's looks (bigger album art) and because of the portrait album cover flow. That one from the thread is the same as in FP2, only from Belle Refresh. Didn't find the 17.2.17 which is from FP1 808. But as of now, I read that Belle FP2 music player is QT and a port FP1 wouldn't be good. What do you know about this?

DeleteStrange thing: most of the time my Windows 7 x64 can't recognize Nokia 808. It was successfully connected with all drivers from Nokia Suite installed only once: after deinstallation of Nokia PC Suite. Then successfully ref. to Delight 1.4. Now I can't connect it (and won't charge too). "USB device not recognized". Tryied to reboot phone, PC, change USB cable, back and front USB ports. Any ideas?

ReplyDeleteI continue to be very grateful for the work you are doing. But here is a question for you. Lately, when I take a pic and try to send it by mms, the phone attempts and eventually fails. The mms stays in the outbox, sometimes showing "Sending" or "Waiting" or "Resend after xxxx". Eventually it shows "Failed". Every once in a while a pic will go thru but most of the time not. Any idea what might be going on?

Previously I used Delight 1.3 in another 808 and it worked fine. Sold that 808, cried for a month and got another 808, which I installed Delight 1.4 this time (coming form stock FW)

I followed all the steps but I get the following error message:

But on the status bar of the program I can see RM-807 and RM-807/113.010.1508,V79u_sr2_12w20.10, 12-10-12.

I'm having those issues as well, although with some files it does show the album art and the seek-ability. But the File Info button crashes the app every time. I'm using the Dutch language (ROFS2 package 18)
DeleteOne odd thing I noticed: When I just refurbished my device with Delight (complete wipe of all memory), the music player found all my podcasts which Poddi saves automatically in F:Podcasts. But now, with a library refresh (because Poddi downloaded some new episodes) it suddenly "forgot" about that folder and is saying I have no podcasts on my device. How is it possible that it detected the podcasts-folder on first-boot, and it doesn't with a refresh of the library? Or is this 'by design'? Would be pretty bummed out, because Poddi cannot save to other folders, you only get the E: or F: options, and it places them in the Podcasts-folder automatically.
hmm,... I always place my podcasts into the music folder, so I never noticed that.

what is G drive you might ask: If you use the Nokia CA-157 on-the-go USB Adapter , which was included in a lot of phone boxes you can plug in a Usb device. I still have 2 or 3 here from my N8's and it still works flawlessly on my 808
I'm gathering courage to use a Custom Firmware. I've read all the posts on how to perform that installation, but one item I can't find. What if I get cold feet and want to go back? How to I go back to Bell? Is there something I can back up before the install?

The only thing that I wish to be improved that I liked Belle widgets (Data Tracker, Flash Light and other) instead of Anna's. So kindly add them in next update, if possible.

I'm probably the first one to encounter this issue, but ever since flashing/refurbishing my 808 to Delight v1.4 (from OFW), I've been having random reboots whenever I launch certain applications. I can't really see a connection between which apps make my device crash, they come from different sources (Store, AppList, websites) and serve all kinds of purposes (Poddi, AudioWave, Cutetube). But it does seem to happen exclusively with Qt-apps, although Sports Tracker crashed during a workout yesterday and that's definitely not Qt-related (but then again: This could be the BT-streaming crash which my 808 has had since the day I bought it).
ReplyDeleteUsually it's fixed by uninstalling the app and then re-installing again, but it is quite annoying. Also, every time my 808 crashes like this, one of my homescreen goes corrupt and crashes the device every time I swipe to it (it has qooCalendar Events widget, a music-player widget and some shortcuts on it). The Widget Fixer of the Delight App fixes it, but I've needed that Fixer now on a daily basis and I'm pretty sure that's not normal. Anyone else having these issues?
I'm having the same problem and would like to kick myself for not doing a format before flashing. When I try a hard reset now it just reinstalls everything on boot. Have you found a fix yet?

DeleteI did do a full format before flashing and after flashing, so we can scratch that out as cause for these crashes. I did notice better behaviour when I disable the 'hash-check' hack in ROM-patcher (as you guys have been saying all along), the crashes are a lot less frequent now.
DeleteOne crash that does keep happening: Every once in a while, when adding shortcuts or widgets to a homescreen, the phone will crash after choosing an item from the list, and after rebooting one of the homescreens goes corrupt and needs the Widget Fixer.
As far as I know, the only app that's running in the background is Belle Extra Buttons, otherwise nothing special is running. If you're also running BEB, maybe that's the cause of it? I hope not, because Symbian without BEB would be painful after two years of getting used to it. I'm always confused when I see a Symbian-phone without those extra buttons :-)
I've deleted everything, no apps installed, yet the problem persists. Can anyone please help me with a link to the ofw so I can flash back, format, and then try Delight again? Thanks in advance.

DeleteAll joking aside: Which ROFS2 did you use from the packages, or did you only use the base package (which would mean your UI is English)?
I`m guessing it was the base base version package. I mean everything is fine - and in English. But for some reason the @mail app is in Chinese and i cannot seem to get it to be read in English. So that is what i`m looking at trying to get fixed if possible.

it doesn't work with all the resolutions the 807 can edit. I think a couple of transitions are missing , too. We know that it won't work on all videos, but it was user demand , so we added it anyway.

Deleterestart on long red nbutton press is a sysap mod. if you would go back to original sysap, then you would lose a lot more mods. shutdown by menu if you need to shut down

DeleteFlashed 1.4 on my 808 and it's remarkable how much quicker and more fluid the phone has become. Plus, if you don't particularly care for some of the UI modifications, you can restore the single long list of apps, use the fp2 keyboard, set the UI elements to gray instead of black, disable visual effects, etc. The font is slightly smaller, so more text can fit in small spaces, but it might be a bit hard on us with older eyes! I think that can be switched back as well, although it's not a setting in the Delight App (see FAQ). I haven't noticed any problems with specific tasks or applications (ones that I use, anyway), and considering that work has been progressing on the Delight CFW for a long time already, it's reasonable to assume that by this point there are fewer problems than with stock fp2.
